Re-Imagined Object

As a first project
coming up with an idea for a re-imagined object
was slightly difficult. Wasn't till after the fact
that I realized there are so many objects
we use other than their primary function
for which the reason they were made.
For example: using a coffee mug to hold pencils
and pens, using the cupholder in your car to hold
a cellphone, or making an old pair of jeans into a
book bag, etc.

The re-imagined project I came up with
was not the first idea that came to mind nor
was it the first design. The original function of my object
is to hold salt and pepper and to which you would find
in your kitchen or on a dinner table. The new function
of my object is to display pictures, invitations,
and post cards; whether to remind yourself
of an upcoming event or to be reminded
of the faces of whom/places you love.

Materials: Salt & pepper shakers, sand,
black and silver spray paint, beads, and paper clips.

Process: Fill salt & pepper shakers with silver/black painted sand
mixed with beads, topped with the salt & pepper shaker caps
intertwined with a paper clip to hold the picture/invitation/post card.
